08 Oct Celtic boss Ronny Deila keeps former West Ham star Carlton Cole in the frame for move to Parkhead
THE injured striker is still on the Hoops manager’s radar despite last week’s injury and he remains in Glasgow to pursue the deal.
CARLTON COLE remains in the hunt for a deal at Celtic – despite his injury woe.
The 31-year-old, left, is trying to win a contract with the Scottish champions having impressed during an initial week-long stint at Lennoxtown last month.
Cole returned for a second spell under Ronny Deila last week but his work was cut short after he sustained a calf injury while training with the first-team group. The striker’s chances of securing a deal looked to be in serious jeopardy at that point.
However, Cole has remained in Glasgow and the former England international will be given the opportunity by Celtic to build his fitness back up and have another crack at sealing a deal as Parkhead boss Deila looks to boost his attacking options.
